IGCSE Exams

Our pupils take the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) at the end of Year 11 when they are 16 years old.  IGCSE is an English language based secondary qualification similar to the GCSE and is recognised in as being equivalent to the GCSE for the purposes of recognising prior attainment. Pupils begin studying the syllabus at the beginning of Year 10 and take the exams at the end of Year 11.

Our school is an authorised Pearson Edexcel exam centre. Pearson Edexcel is one of the examination boards which deliver the IGCSE exams, along with Cambridge AIE and Oxford AQA.

Our IGCSE Results

''The school has achieved very high academic results, with 53% of Year 11 pupils who were examined in English as their first language at GCSE achieving grades 8-9, and 47% achieving the same grades in mathematics. On average, pupils taking GCSE examinations achieve excellent results, thus indicating that they make good progress and demonstrate the school’s high standards of teaching and learning’’
