Some of our Charity Work

Refugee Charity in Barcelona

In 2022, Year 4 raised money for the Barcelona refugee charity CEAR

One of our student’s Mum works for this charity, she came to school and told us about the situation of refugees in Spain. In reaction to this, the children organised a craft fair and a sponsored walk to raise money for this charity.

Year 6's assembly was extremely productive!

With the topic of Enrichment and 'Making a Difference' and they have chosen to raise money and collect essential items for charity in the lead-up to Christmas.

The children led a workshop to share their ideas with the rest of the primary, using PowerPoint slides and graphs they had created, they then put all other children into their mixed-age 'house teams' to discuss ways in which they could also help Year 6 realise their goal, noting ways to help the local community.

Plans included the annual Olive Tree Christmas Craft Fair (Wednesday 21st December), where they were selling handcrafted items and will give the proceeds to a local charity. There was also a 'Reverse Advent Calendar'. We gifted, instead of received, a different essential item each day in December to people in need.

We will keep you updated on their progress and how families can help. Well done Year 6 for showing such great initiative and a philanthropic mindset.

Ukrainian Families.

One weekend in 2022 Olive Tree hosted over 60 Ukrainian mothers and children and their hosts for a few hours of food, drinks, and playtime. The families enjoyed football, yoga and arts and crafts, and more. Thank you to #care4ukraine for the initiative and to all the host families and volunteers who were so giving of their time this weekend. #sitgesschool #internationalschool #barcelonaschool
