Hello families & friends of The Olive Tree,

Firstly, we are very happy to announce that we now have 73 children on roll for next September!
Some of our classes are full or have only one place left.
We are thrilled that in times of economic recession here in Spain, our school is still growing at a steady rate: neither too fast nor too slow.
We started three years ago with 20 children; the second year we had 45 children; this year we have had 65; we are now on target to reach 85 by September-  even though, sadly, some of our families have been hit by economic changes.

Thank you so much to all of you for helping spread the message that our school is a special, exciting place for children to learn.
Many of our new children will be coming to us thanks to your loyal, very positive word-of-mouth.

This week

We took to the school grounds for some our learning: here are Year 3 children hard at work in their Science lesson.

Year 2 astrophysicist Robert Preston requested to lead assembly on Friday and let us in on his wisdom of ‘How the Universe Works’. It was marvellous to hear his passionate explanations of white dwarves, gravity and supernovas. We can now cancel Stephen Hawkins’ visit to The Olive Tree.

Wednesday’s Sponsored Silence was incredible with some children as young as 7 keeping silent for the 7 hours of the school day! Please help your child collect their sponsor money and hand in to Angie.  Here are some images of the children on their day of quiet reflection:
