Last week was Harvest festival.
Thank you very much for your generous donations. They will be taken to the food bank this week.
Year 4 took to the stage on Friday and gave the primary children an informative assembly on harvest traditions around the world.
Saplings took to their little stage in the garden and treated families to a little harvest-time singing.

Thank you to all parents who have kindly volunteered to join the Events Committee this year.
Leading the committee is Katie Thomas. Please contact her at events@olivetreeschool.cat

The committee’s first fundraising event will be our delicious International Food Fair on Friday 8th November at 4.00. Please save the date!
Families will be invited to make their national dish and sell a portion for a small price.
There is also a raffle with several prizes, also kindly donated by families. If you would like to donate a prize, please contact Katie Thomas.
Funds raised by the committee this year will go towards improving the school facilities in a way to be decided by the committee.

A new piano arrived in school last Friday, giving pupils access to three pianos during the school day on which to practise as well as to be taught.

Year 7 explores our local vegetation and geological features

Week 4

The week ahead is Dyslexia Awareness Week across the school. We will explore how dyslexic people see the world, and how this can be a strength.
Pupils are invited to wear green for dyslexia on Friday and bring a euro to contribute to our inspiring dyslexia library, where our own dyslexic pupils can find an accessible range of fiction and non-fiction.

Monday and Tuesday are Rosh Hashana for our Jewish families.
We will explore the stories behind it and how the festival is celebrated.

Primary book orders

We don’t have access to an English bookshop for you to go and browse with your child so we offer you a postal book service instead.
Your child has taken home a catalogue of new and classic books in English.
If you would like to buy a book, please complete the order form in the centre of the catalogue, and return to school as soon as possible.
Please place correct money in an envelope, clearly labelled with your child’s name
